Project location: Melbourne, Australia
Project Name: Adina Apartment Hotel Pentridge Melbourne
Project Background:
Adina Apartment Hotel Pentridge Melbourne is a TFE Hotels brand. It features a unique design style that blends industrial heritage with modern elements, as it's converted from a former prison. The furniture (supporting furniture) combines contemporary comfort with rustic touches, using neutral tones and sturdy materials for a stylish yet functional look.
Challenges & Solution:
1.Sofa bed
Challenge: The initial order quantity of 26 sets was below our standard MOQ of 30. Additionally, the first prototype—developed based on client drawings without back cushions—presented issues with seating depth and comfort during the initial review. Later, the design team requested a width reduction from 1980mm to 1780mm for space efficiency, requiring another pre-production sample.
Solution: Despite the low quantity, we accepted the order considering the project's special requirements. Leveraging our experience, we recommended adding back cushions to improve comfort, which was approved after sampling. We also accommodated the dimensional change by creating and confirming a new prototype, ultimately delivering a product with fuller armrests and seat cushions that enhanced both aesthetics and comfort.
2.Coffee table & Side table Set
Challenge: The design required quartz stone with a special snowflake pattern, which had to be custom-sourced and pass a 24-hour stain resistance test. The bases, made from 5mm thick carbon steel flat bar, required laser cutting for precise patterns and a custom powder-coated finish matching the client’s color standard.
Solution: We successfully sourced a matching quartz slab that met the stain-resistant criteria. Laser cutting ensured clean edges without burrs, and we developed a custom paint color according to the client’s sample, achieving both design accuracy and safety.
3.Bedside Table:
Challenge: The circular bedside table, constructed with 5mm carbon steel flat bars and perforated steel mesh (3.25mm diameter holes), went through two design revisions. The second revision required embedding a quartz stone top with a uniform edge gap of only 2mm.
Solution: Our skilled production team managed both the unique mesh welding and the precise inlay of the quartz top, maintaining a consistent 2mm gap for a refined finish.
Main Materials: Solid Wood (Pine wood, Oak), Customized Pattern Quartz Stone, Perforated Steel Mesh, Customized Powder-coated colors
